Vagrinders is first company to begin designing ceramic grinders. Since 2016, ceramic coating has been at the core of our product development. Over the years, we have continuously invested time and resources into exploring the potential of ceramic coating technology, with the goal of delivering a smoother, healthier, and more durable grinding experience in real-world use. As our understanding of ceramic materials deepened, we progressively upgraded the overall design, appearance, and functional structure of our ceramic grinders. Following a chronological path, let’s take a closer look at the evolution of ceramic coating across Vagrinders’ grinders.

1. Ceramic Herb Grinder — Quality Coating in a Foundational Design
The Ceramic Herb Grinder was the first ceramic grinder introduced by Vagrinders, yet from the very beginning, we did not treat it as an “entry-level” product. Building upon the proven structure of traditional aluminum grinders, we applied a proprietary ceramic coating to the aluminum alloy surface. This ceramic coating is derived from industrial-grade formulations used in cutting tools to reduce friction, effectively minimizing resistance during grinding and making each rotation smoother and more effortless.
At the same time, ceramic coating naturally offers non-stick properties, reducing material buildup and residue adhesion. This helps keep the interior of the grinder clean and hygienic, while also making maintenance and cleaning significantly easier.
2. Ceramic Ultra Grinder — Comprehensive Upgrades in Form and Coating
With continued research and development, Vagrinders introduced the Ceramic Ultra Grinder. This generation features a completely redesigned exterior along with an all-new Ceramic Process. The overall shape is more rounded, with a softer hand feel and a more modern visual presence, while fully retaining the non-stick and smooth performance of ceramic coating.
Structurally, the Ceramic Ultra Grinder incorporates a newly engineered tooth profile to improve grinding efficiency, allowing a wide range of herbal materials to be processed more easily. The Quick Connect structure simplifies assembly and disassembly, while the enlarged grinding chamber increases capacity per use. In terms of coating, we innovated the spray process by integrating metallic flakes into the ceramic layer, creating a unique starry-sky effect for each grinder. Beyond being a functional tool, it also serves as a visually appealing object when not in use.
3. Ceramic Grinder 3.0 — The Latest Application of Ceramic Coating Technology
Ceramic Grinder 3.0 represents the most advanced application of Vagrinders’ ceramic coating technology to date. This generation adopts third-generation ceramic coating, upgraded to a pearlescent ceramic texture, and is finished with two additional layers of transparent ceramic protective coating. We refer to this system as “Dragon Crystal Ceramic.”
Dragon Crystal Ceramic offers exceptional hardness and wear resistance, along with outstanding light transmission. This gives the grinder a crystal-like gloss, akin to the finish on a Porsche 911. Beyond its enhanced visual appeal, the coating effectively protects against scratches and impacts from daily use, allowing the grinder to maintain its condition over time.
In addition, Ceramic Grinder 3.0 features comprehensive structural upgrades, including more durable ceramic materials, a concealed herb storage compartment, an optimized Sunray tooth design, and a hidden screen structure. These refinements ensure more consistent grinding results and a more complete overall user experience.
From the original Ceramic Herb Grinder, to Ceramic Ultra, and now Ceramic Grinder 3.0, each ceramic coating upgrade reflects Vagrinders’ ongoing pursuit of quality and detail. Ceramic coating is not only about aesthetics—it directly influences grinding smoothness, ease of cleaning, and product longevity. Looking ahead, Vagrinders will continue to focus on this direction, delivering higher-quality and more reliable grinders, and making every use a truly enjoyable experience.
